These are listed on ebay, and currently some of the only sperry bahamas on the whole freakin internet with this specific pattern. I want them hard, but they are on ebay listed as pre-owned in good condition and I want to make sure they aren't complete shit before I spend the 34 bux. 

 

I never really got caught up in all the hype about Zooey Deschanel, but this makes me really respect her. This country and western culture in general has skewed and cornered the market on the view of what can be called beautiful and what is acceptable, and this is not OK. We should be encouraging people to find the beauty in every single human being on the planet; not convincing them that they aren't good enough so that they will go out and spend money trying to live up to some subjective standard.

Update

I just bought a sewing machine and am headed in town tonight after work to buy the supplies to make a dress form out of duct tape and some old t-shirts to make pretty tops out of. the sewing machine should be here by thursday (thank god for amazon prime) and then I can get crackin! This is sooo exciting, I have always wanted to take up sewing again but never had the time or the money, but now I do!! If anything good comes out of it I will put some pics up.

Mountain Girl Clothing

 

This girl makes these tops from scratch from old t-shirts and various materials like lace and brocade. She inspired me to try my hand at it too! I have always been a creative person and I have a history with (trying) to make clothing. I plan on going to the store tonight to buy a sewing machine and some old t-shirts etc... and see what turns up out of it. I love this girl's style, the military jacket adds some toughness, the jewelery adds some color and texture, and the flares jeans are really well tailored, although the hem appears to be too long. This is an outfit I would wear.

Graduation was this weekend... I am officially on my own 0.o it's a very interesting feeling; good and bad. I really don't know how to quantify all the emotions I have surrounding this. being an adult is weird and I don't know if I like it yet. Ah well we shall see how this goes. Plans for the summer: Work at my job 40 hours a week and do a damn good job at it, Buy a long board and learn how to ride it (now's the perfect time because this town is empty), go see a shit ton of awesome shows that I never got a chance to in school because I never had money, find a second job waitressing or something similar, save up some money, get a tan, lose some weight... ha ha, this list keeps getting bigger as I write it. I am really proud of myself for accomplishing something that few members of my family have done. I have come to understand that self confidence is created from the experience of knowing what you are capable of and knowing that you can accomplish great things.

Graduation!!!

I am graduating from College this weekend!!!! Four years ago I couldn't have even imagined being the person I am today, and I am so thankful for who I have become. I will be living here for the summer, but this will be my last time as a member of the Umaine community, and I will be sad to go. I am excited for what the future brings, and even though things are a little tough right now I know they are going to get much better very soon. :)
